Choose a few representative items to keep in a designated memory box. For the rest, consider taking a photograph. A digital photo album of sentimental items occupies no physical space, yet still allows you to revisit those cherished memories.

The “One In, One Out” Rule

Once you’ve decluttered, the next challenge is maintaining the space. A simple rule to live by is “one in, one out.” Every time you bring something new into your home, whether it’s a new shirt or a new book, an old one has to go. This prevents clutter from accumulating again and makes you a more conscious consumer. You’ll start to question every purchase more carefully.
